My brother-in-law the rocket scientist

OK, he's not actually a rocket scientist, but my brother-in-law, Dave, does works as an electrical engineer for NASA Glenn Research Center and the clip above shows 3 news reports on a SCAN testbed, that he helped design, and that is being sent to the International Space Station on a Japanese rocket as I write.

The SCAN testbed will be bolted on to the side of the Space Station so that they can run tests on the equipment and make sure everthing is operational so that it can be used in future space exploration.

Unfortunately, we don't get to see Dave interviewed in the clips but we do get to see the equipment that he helped develop for NASA.  Pretty cool!  I'm very proud of him.

Were the Maine caucus results a farce?

The Maine GOP announced that Mitt Romney won the Maine caucuses, but only 83% of the precincts have reported.

How is this happening and there is almost nothing about it in the major news media?

Washington County, Maine, postponed its caucuses due to the threat of 1-3″ of snow (which did not materialize).  Really?  An event cancelled because of 3" of snow?  IN MAINE?  There were reports that there was a Girl Scout event in Washington County the same day which was NOT cancelled.

Washington County won't even vote until next Saturday. However, Maine GOP Executive Director Michael Quatrano announced that the official results are permanent and will not be changed when the new votes come in.  HOW CAN THAT BE?  All the votes haven't been counted, yet they've announced the winner and WILL NOT CHANGE THE RESULTS even if, or when, the actual votes prove otherwise.

Washington County GOP Chairman Chris Gardner objected, saying he had known his county’s tally wouldn’t be included in Saturday’s announcement but didn’t realize it wouldn’t be counted at all. He said he had called state party leaders and “expressed my complete and utter dismay.”

Some have called Washington County a “Ron Paul stronghold” that could have propelled Ron Paul to a Maine victory. Ron Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton suggested that the Romney campaign was involved in the cancellation of the caucus as Paul’s campaign had expected to do well: “It’s not completely insidious, but they knew we were going to swamp it up there.”

I don't mind a candidate losing fair and square but this stinks to high heaven.
